An A–Z Journey Through the Body, Hope, and Healing

Welcome to Body City, where imagination opens the door to learning. Through an alphabet-inspired journey, this illustrated children’s book introduces language associated with oncology in a way that invites curiosity, questions, and conversations.

Created with children and families in mind, it brings a new kind of storytelling to a subject that can feel unfamiliar or overwhelming.

THE STORY BEHIND THE STORY

Why I wrote this book.

For years, I’ve worked in scientific communication, helping make complex medical information understandable for professional audiences. I began to wonder how those same principles—clarity, curiosity, and care—might help children and families approach difficult scientific words.

I didn’t want to simply bring my day job home. I wanted to create something imaginative, joyful, and useful. ABCs of Oncology grew from that idea: a story that makes room for learning and hope, without pretending that the subject is simple.

WELCOME TO BODY CITY

A world built for curious minds.

Body City is the imaginative setting behind ABCs of Oncology. It turns an intimidating subject into an opportunity for exploration, offering children and the adults who care for them a shared starting point for questions and discovery.

The Body City Collection is a growing creative vision. Additional concepts are being explored; new titles will be announced when they’re ready.

SCHOOLS · LIBRARIES · HEALTHCARE · COMMUNITY

Let’s put stories where they can make a difference.

I’d love to explore opportunities to introduce ABCs of Oncology to classrooms, libraries, family-focused programs, pediatric waiting rooms, and community organizations.

If you’re an educator, librarian, healthcare professional, or community partner interested in the book, I’d welcome a conversation.

This book is intended as an educational conversation starter and is not a substitute for individualized medical advice.
